B&B Palazzo Antonelli, historical residence 1600. There are six double or family rooms. Four en-suite bedrooms, and two bedrooms have with seperate bathrooms.

The B&B is situated in the heart of Monopoli’s historic centre. It is close to the white beaches of Portavecchia about 600m away, easily reached on foot. Other local beaches can be reached by foot, bike or bus.

It is near to monuments, the ancient square, and beautiful old streets. Parking is free on the towns streets, outside the historic centre a pay car park is located around 800m from the B&B and costs about 5 Euro a day per car.

A substantial Italian breakfast is included and is served between 8 and 10 a.m. We can recomment a restaurant for dinner which is priced very reasonably and provided local cuisine. Average prices are around 20 euro per person ; children 2-12 years 50% less.

Apulia is a region with a pleasant climate, dry for most of the year .There is a lot of sun. There are many restaurant (well price) that serve locally produced food which is excellent. This region produces much wine which is world renowned. In this area there are clothing industries which produce named Italian clothing which can be bought locally for a good price.
The region is rich in history, There are ancient houses called trulli that go back to 1600. They were used by farmers and still exist today.

Alberobello which is the centre of this kind of buidings is a UNESCO world heritage site and can be found 20km from Monopoli.

In the region there are two medieval, Castel Del Monte (60km) and the castle of FEDERICO II in Oria (70km). Also ,all the surrounding towns have their own historic centres which are particular to each place. These include: Locorotondo, Ostuni, Cisternino, Polignano a Mare, Conversano, Martina Franca, Conversano. There are many wonderful beaches like Capitolo beach which is 5km long. The sand and sea are clean and clear ,as the Caribbean.

HOW TO GET HERE

By car: toll road to BARI, when you arrive in BARI you have to continue towards BRINDISI on the dual carriageway S. S. 16 for about 45 kilometres. When you arrive in MONOPOLI, you exit and continue to Monopoli’s historical centre. (We can give you directions by phone or e-mail you a map).

By train: train to BARI, then you can go on from Bari to MONOPOLI by train, from MONOPOLI railway station you can arrive by foot (about 1km far from B&B) or by taxi .

By Aeroplane: BARI-PALESE Airport or BRINDISI Airport, you need to continue by car or taxi.
Alitalia and AirOne fly from Milan and Rome.
Ryanair ,the low fares airline are offering economically priced daily flights from U K.
British Airways are now flying direct to Bari from Gatwick.

Wherever you arrive, car hire is essential
You can try : Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Everycarhire, Italybycar.

Within easy reach of the B&B, you can visit the local tourist attractions (about 5km away). Others places of interest include Polignano a Mare,( 7km from theB&B); Alberobello with its famous trulli, a world heritage site, (20 km from the B&B); the unique historical centre of Locorotondo (25km from the B&B); Martina Franca with it’s ancient centre, castle and cathedral in Conversano (15km from the B&B), Ostuni . You need rental a car for these trips.
